In Patna, the couple committed suicide by hanging themselves on Friday. Police have recovered a suicide note from the incident site, which is being investigated. The incident took place in Indrapuri locality located in Dashratha village of Beur police station area. The deceased couple has been identified as Pappu Rai and his wife Pooja Kumari.

Regarding the incident, police say that Pappu Rai along with his wife Pooja Kumari and their daughter Sahanvi lived as tenants in Vikas Kumar’s house. Pappu Rai used to support his family by doing private jobs. Pappu Rai has a 12 year old daughter living in his maternal grandmother’s house, while an 8 year old daughter was with him. A day before the incident, Pappu Rai had a heated argument with his wife Pooja Kumari over some issue. In this sequence, Pappu Rai kept the suicide note in the house and on Friday morning both the husband and wife committed suicide by hanging themselves.
Daughter told that father wrote suicide note before committing suicide
As soon as information about the incident was received, people nearby informed Beur police station. As soon as the information was received, the police of Beur police station reached the spot and took the bodies of both the husband and wife in their custody and sent them to Patna AIIMS for post-mortem. Police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot. This has been confirmed by his 8 year old daughter Sahnavi, in whom she told that her father had written a suicide note, which was kept in the kitchen of the house.
The reason for suicide is not clear at the moment
Giving information about the incident, Phulwari Sharif Police Sub-Divisional Officer Vikram Sihag said that information was received about a husband and wife committing suicide by hanging themselves in Indrapuri locality of Beur. He said that the families of both have been informed about this. Till the time of writing the news, the police station has not received any application in this matter. Due to this, it is not clear at present what are the reasons for suicide. Police Sub-Divisional Officer Vikram Sihag said that when written application is received from the family members, the police will take action on this basis.
